Friday Update
cleaning trach supplies with mommy
relaxing with daddy
Home sweet home. We are enjoying the process of adjusting back to home life. Ellie has been great, except the fact that she has slept all day and then is awake until 2 am! We are uncertain about how to wake her up during the day since she can't hear and does not respond a lot to stimuli...
Things did not get off to a good start with the in home nursing. We have very high standards for the people that will be caring for Eleanor, and they were not met the first two nights. We are working with the nursing agency to find people that will meet our standards, and until they are met we will be caring for Ellie at night by ourselves. This process has been very difficult for me and Adam to say the least, so please pray that somehow we will find a person that will fit in our family. (Marsha, Rose and June: are you looking for a new job?) ;)
We are so happy to be at home. Please keep praying for us that we would find a nurse that we like and that the boys would get used to their sister being at home.

Oh you guys look like its such a natural thing to have her there with you!
ReplyDeleteI will pray for your search of a decent nurse to go very well. I have been in the field of helping people and it is so very hard to find good help! Just because they say they are good at it, doesn't mean they can do the job to your specifications!!!!
I pray your serach goes well and you find "the" one!
Praying for a good nurse that you can trust wholeheartedly with your daughter. It is so good to see her at home!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of Ellie at home! I will be praying that God sends the right nurse your way, someone worthy of caring for sweet baby Ellie!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the top of your head in the picture, I was like "I bet she is wearing Ellie!" And sure enough, when I scrolled down, there you were wearing her, making it look like the most natural thing in the world. Ellie is so blessed to have a mama like you. I am so sorry the nursing staff let you down! :( Ellie deserves the very best-of course you have very high standards. I am praying that God will send you the perfect caregivers for precious Ellie. I wish I could help out!
ReplyDeleteA picture is worth a thousand words!
ReplyDeleteIt is so great to "see" you settling in at home.
Of course, I will pray for you to find the right person, and FAST. Keep trusting your instincts about people.
Take care of yourselves.
I love the pictures of Ellie at home with her wonderful family...it is a wonderful blessing. I am confident that there is the "right" nurse out there for Ellie, and they will be there soon to lighten the load. Thank you again for sharing your journey. Love to all
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are finally able to be at home with your baby. Your strength and faithfulness continues to inspire me. Praying that you are sent a nursing professional who will love and care for Eleanor the way she deserves. Someone who can give you both a little peace of mind knowing that your precious angel is in good hands.
ReplyDeleteYou all look so wonderful to be home and I am so glad that things are going well for the most part. Hopefully your 'angel' nurse will be found (and soon) so that you guys can get some sleep as well. You shouldn't feel bad about having high standards...your family and daughter deserve the BEST care possible and God will answer this call as he has the others...
ReplyDeletePlease know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all...

ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see her in a pouch! I can't wait to see her in the Moby.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find two good nurses very soon so you can get some good sleep to keep you going during the day.
Looks like she fits in nice at home:) Keep up the babywearing! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you find a good nurse soon, it is so frustrating!

We are hoping that things will settle down soon for the family. Aunt Laura and I can hardly wait to see all of you on Thanksgiving. I hope the nurse search goes well. See you soon
