There hasn't been much improvement yet for Ellie. She is still requiring oxygen and continues to be wheezy.
Pulmonologist Update: This morning they did a chest X-ray and found a pocket of "stuff" on one side (not Pneumonia). So they are continuing with treatments to relieve the constriction and inflammation so that she can breathe more easily.
The trach swab did come back as Staph. Apparently it is not uncommon for kids with trachs, but it is the better one of the two strands if you are going to have it.
Still planning on being here for a couple more days at the least.
Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement.

Hi Adam and Emily,
ReplyDeleteThis is Katie (julie's freshmen roommate from Calvin) Just wanted to let you guys know I am praying praying for Ellie right now. I'll be praying for you guys too, that the Lord gives you extra strength and peace. I'm in grad school right now and doing some research on Velo-Cardio Facial Syndrome and couldn't help but think of Ellie. I'm sure that has been covered in all of the testing you guys have been through, and was curious if that ever came up in a potential diagnosis?
In my prayers,
Katie
........in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteLove, Connie
thinking of you guys and praying hard. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteAchh. I struggled with that miserable stomach bug too. My heart goes out to you for the pain and what feels like a setback. Remember—It is always darkest before the sunshines. Praying for Ellie's recovery from this infection.
ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs to you all.
