CPAP time

Hannah was successfully extubated today. She was breathing on her own for quite a while but then it became evident that she needed a little help keeping her airway open. She was switched to CPAP to help provide the pressure to breathe. CPAP does not breathe for her, like a vent, but just provides enough pressure to keep her airway open.

Hannah is following the same pattern as Ellie. It is not the path we were hoping for, yet it is one we are familiar with.

  9. I'm sorry that she needs the CPAP. I'm sure this is an incredible...disappointment (for lack of better word!) We are praying for you all in this. Remember to take it one minute at a time and I'm praying for huge steps in improvement for little Hannah! Asking the Lord to surround you with much strength and peace. Thank YOU so much for taking the time to update us all. I'm sure that is emotionally and physically tiring to do so. HUGS and many many prayers...and we love seeing the pics of your beautiful girl! She is more precious each time! :)

  17. Thank you so much for sharing this journney and the pictures of Hannah Grace with us. You must be physically and emotionally exhausted. I just love her name. It fits her perfectly. I continue to pray for all of you that she may not need to be trached and that she will be less severe than Ellie. May God grant you peace and comfort and whatever you stand in need for each passing day. Hannah Grace is truely beautiful!!!
